7 Minimalist Ways to Increase your Health

Your body is Wonderland. Your body is the most important thing in the entire world. Not your job, or your relationships, or your money.Because without your body, you cannot do anything. You would be dead. I’m sorry for being so blunt. I’m just trying to explain how important your body is, and in turn how important health is.

Our bodies are our vehicles in which we are able to live our lives. Like any vehicle, we have to take care of it. Please read on to find 7 minimalist ways of keeping healthy.

1. Drink 6-8 glasses of water

Come now people, we all know how healthy water is. Our bodies are made up of a high percentage of water. Even if you don’t like the taste. Drink it as if you are drinking medication. If you are forgetful put alarms on your phone.  Oh and by the way, other drinks do not count as your daily water intake, including coffee and tea. You should drink 6-8 glasses of “just” water.

2. Sleep for 6-8 hours

Sleep is our body’s ways of rejuvenating itself. If you are continuously practicing bad sleeping habits its going to take a huge toll on your health. Try your best to sleep for at least 6 hours a day. It’s also important to sleep before midnight, because your sleep would be more beneficial. So if you have some work to do, sleep early and wake up early to complete the work.

If you think about it, human beings were not meant to be nocturnal creatures.

3. Eat an apple 

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Apples are highly nutritious. I’m not talking about baked apples. If you snack on an apple chances are you are not going to snack on something unhealthy, so make sure to pack an apple or two in your lunch bag.

4. Stop eating 3 hours before you sleep

Having your last meal 2 hours before you sleep will help you sleep better. If you sleep on a full stomach your  body is busy digesting your food instead of relaxing.

5. Have a side salad

One of the best ways to get much needed fiber is to eat leafy green vegetables. What better way to do that than a salad? Try to add a salad to at least one meal in your day. You will soon be so used to eating it that you would miss it when it’s not there.

6. Chew your food

Digestion starts from the mouth. Practice mindfulness while eating. Savour your food. Enjoy each bite. Chances are you would feel full faster. This might help in losing weight.

7. Stretch

If you are not able to exercise at least do some light stretches. It would relive your taunt muscles. If you do some light stretches in the morning you will feel energised. Lightly stretching before bed time will also have a beneficial affect on your sleep.
