I was waiting by a church. I said to myself that I would help the beggars by giving them money before I left. There was absolutely no legit reason for me not to give them the money immediately. I went to the bathroom, walked around a bit and finally when it was time to leave, I looked for the beggars to give them money – but they were gone.
I felt terrible and was close to tears. For my own selfish reasons I didn’t give those people money which they could have used towards their next meal. I should have given it to them immediately. Why did I wait? I could not answer that question.
For those who need help, time is of the essence.
From then onwards I vowed not to waste time in helping someone in need. Be it any sort of help. You don’t know what the other person is going through. Just for your satisfaction, laziness, or ego, don’t let it be late. It might just be too late. Help them now.
This applies to friends in need as well. If you owe someone money pay them ASAP no matter how small you think the amount is. They might be needing it. If someone asks for your advice on a project, don’t wait a week to take a look at it.
We have time, let us use it wisely.
You might feel that you do not have enough time, but we tend to think we need more time than we actually do, when doing a task for someone else. At the end of the day you would feel so good because you helped someone, and you completed a task on your to-do list.
If someone asks for your help. Help them as soon as you are able to. In the same way, I hope that the help you require is provided to you immediately.
Wishing you lots happiness.
